The Media Page / What the hell is Bit Torrent?

So here's the problem: Music and video files are big. Hosting them costs money, and that money has to come from somewhere. Matt can't afford to pay for it out of his own pocket. I doubt Universal would care to pay to host music videos and bootlegs from live shows. I certainly can't afford to pay to host the stuff...

That's where Bit Torrent comes in. Bit Torrent is a relatively new technology that allows you to distribute media without having to host it on a central server. Everyone downloads from each other.

This only works, however, if everyone shares. Once you've downloaded a file, please leave your BT client running so you can share the file with other people. If people don't share, the system breaks down, and no one gets anything.

So here's what you need to know. To download the files, you need a BitTorrent client (see right). Once that's installed, just download the .torrent files below, and your client will download the media you're looking for.
